Allotment Gardens
Allotment gardens are not just patches of soil; they are sacred spaces where people reconnect with nature and rediscover the joy of nurturing life from the ground up. Each plot tells a story of hope and resilience, transforming barren land into thriving havens of growth and community. Find solace and purpose, cultivating not only plants but a shared sense of belonging.

Community Gardens: Grow Together

Join a community of like-minded individuals in our community gardens. These shared spaces are perfect for those who enjoy social gardening and learning from others. Our community gardens provide a supportive environment where you can share tips, exchange plants, and make lasting friendships. Experience the joy of gardening together and contribute to a greener community.
Fresh homegrown fruit and vegetables
Wharfside Park's allotment garden offers a chance to cultivate your own bounty, from runner beans to traditional potatoes. Experienced members, eager to share their gardening knowledge, welcome you to join their thriving community. Embrace the satisfaction of growing your own food, saving money and reducing your environmental impact by harvesting locally and starting from seed.
Delicious honey and local beeswax
Do you have a sweet tooth? What better than fresh locally sourced honey and beeswax. Our members have established hives on their plots. Not only will they be rewarded with the finest honey, but they're also contributing to the ecosystem by supporting these key pollinators and helping to safeguard the British bee population.
Wildflower meadows and habitat creation
Enjoy the wildflower meadows and ancient hedgerows or relax amongst the bird song. It's not all about food production and gardening, we've set aside parts of our community garden site for habitat creation, particularly for key pollinators such as the internationally important solitary mining bee.
Somewhere to relax, unwind and recoup
Many of our members join up for an escape from the every day hustle and bustle of modern life. If you're looking for somewhere to get away from it all and relax and recoup in nature, you're in the right place. Chill out with a barbeque, or sit back and enjoy the soothing sounds of nature on your very own allotment plot at Wharfside Park.
